Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on www.iconnecttechnologies.com (the “Site”), what each one does and how long it lasts, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Your browser’s local storage and session storage work in a similar way. Some cookies are essential for the Site to work; others help us understand how the Site is used and whether our advertising works.

2. Your Choices

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Until you accept, and if you decline, those cookies are not set: Google Analytics and Google Ads run in a restricted mode (Google’s “Consent Mode”) that sends only limited signals without cookies.

You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings, which is also linked at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Site from working.

3. Cookies We Use

Essential

  • ic_consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics and advertising cookies. Lasts 6 months.
  • comment_author_*: set only if you leave a comment on our blog and ask us to remember your details. Lasts up to 1 year.
  • wordpress_* and wp-settings-*: set only for our staff when they log in to manage the Site. Last until they log out, or up to 1 year for display preferences.

Analytics (only after you accept)

  • _ga: Google Analytics 4. Tells visits from different browsers apart so we can count visitors. Lasts 2 years.
  • _ga_2JWHQMFPWH: Google Analytics 4. Keeps track of your current visit. Lasts 2 years.
  • sbjs_*: WooCommerce. Records how you arrived at the Site, for example from a search engine or an ad. Expires within 30 minutes or when you close your browser.

Advertising measurement (only after you accept)

  • _gcl_au: Google Ads. Links a visit from one of our ads to an enquiry, so we can tell whether the ad worked. Lasts 90 days.

4. Browser Storage

Our AI chat assistant uses your browser’s storage, not cookies. These items are needed for the chat to work and are not used to track you:

  • ica_session (session storage): keeps your current chat conversation while the tab is open. Cleared when you close the tab.
  • ica_nudged (session storage): remembers that you have already seen a chat prompt on this type of page. Cleared when you close the tab.
  • ica_nudge_snooze_until (local storage): if you close a chat prompt, stops prompts from appearing again for 7 days.

5. Other Services

Our forms are protected from spam by Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs in a frame served from Cloudflare’s own domain and does not set cookies on our Site. Our Contact Us page shows an embedded Google Map, which loads from Google and may set Google’s own cookies under its policies. Links to vendor and partner websites take you to sites we do not control; their own cookie policies apply there.

We will update this page when we add or remove cookies, and change the “Last updated” date above.
